Just a few days after the farewell to the legendary Aston "Familyman" Barrett, Bob Marley's bassist, another very sad and shocking piece of news hit the reggae world. Peter Morgan, also known as "Peetah", vocalist of Morgan Heritage, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. According to sources, the singer, only 50 years old and born on July 11, 1973, had been dealing with some vascular health problems. A severe stroke caused his death. Morgan Heritage was founded in 1994 and for many years had the siblings Peter, Una, Lukes, Mojo, and Gramps at the front line. In recent years, the musical family consisted of the trio Peter, Mojo, and Gramps, accompanied by an absolutely incredible group of musicians. Morgan Heritage won the Grammy in 2016 with "Strictly Roots" and was nominated on other occasions. The group has an excellent discography, with essential albums such as "Don’t Haffi Dread", "More Teachings", and "Strictly Roots", as well as breathtaking live albums like "Live in Europe" and "Another Rockaz Moment".
