The month of September 2009 will be marked in history, after all the legendary Earl Sixteen steps for the first time on Brazilian territory

The month of September 2009 will be marked in history, after all the legendary Earl Sixteen steps for the first time on Brazilian territory for a sequence of 4 shows, one in Rio de Janeiro, one in São Paulo, Brasília and again in São Paulo, but now in Pindamonhangaba. Our team mobilized for coverage at Jive Club, a club located in Higienópolis, a renowned São Paulo neighborhood.
With the popularization of SoundSystem culture in the state, filling the house was not difficult, and as soon as we entered we were welcomed by Johnny Osbourne's classic "Truths and Rights" and the feeling that the night promised a lot. In the audience, several artists and personalities from the national scene were present, such as Lei di Dai, the QG Imperial people, Dj Zambol, Thales Lion Farm from Leões de Israel, Johnny B. Good and Junior Dread, who even made a small appearance alongside Earl.
The Surforeggae team conducted a very relaxed interview with the singer, where we addressed subjects about his career, personal evolution x modernization of the market and reggae itself, the relationship with the recently deceased Steely Johnson and much more. We will make this material available soon.

EL SHOW
Without much delay, the star took over the "mics" and explored the history of Reggae alongside Dj MPC, from DigitalDubs. The audience responded in kind in terms of receptivity, when it was literally gifted with true pearls of the "Rhythm of Jah". The beautiful "Declaration of Rights" by Abyssinians, "Party Next Door" by Black Uhuru, the heavy tune "Chase the Devil" by Max Romeo, "Skylarking" by Horace Andy, "Is this Love" by Bob Marley, in short, "zero economy" in the QUALITY of repertoire, and, as could not be missing, great Earl hits such as "Malcolm X" and "Pirate’s Games". Earl Sixteen's energy infected everyone. The way the singer interpreted the cited classics or HIS own classics was chilling, a rare dedication. If all of Earl's vocal power were not enough, the careful and imposing "conducting" by MPC, from DigitalDubs, was the icing on the cake of an impeccable performance. MPC said a couple of times that Earl was tired and that the very next day he would face a long trip to Brasília... and did he stop? Of course not. The vibe at Jive Club was great, and the star came back with full energy for the encore. We thank DigitalDubs for the initiative, and all those who in one way or another bring us closer to these true "monsters" of world reggae. Keep the music alive!
