It all started with the idea of getting friends together and doing what they call "regada", which is nothing more than meeting friends in a bar or at someone's house so they can gather their ideas and enjoy the real reggae roots. In the "regadas" everyone present has the right to play their songs. However, the watering areas became small, and the need for a bigger place led to the emergence of "1° Tributo a BOB MARLEY" from the city of Codó.
The party was held on the night of May 12th and was well attended even without any publicity. Jorge Rayol, the presenters of the program "Cultura Reggae", Cícero de Sousa and Gregory Jr, Prof. Wando, CREPEL and the reggueiro Clodomar, were responsible for the organization. The radio station "FM Black Som" entertained the masses until 3:00 am on Sunday morning with the purest reggae played by DJ Gregory Jr. On the screen, several style videos such as Alpha Blondy, Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, Israel Vibration, etc.
The location chosen for "1° Tributo a BOB MARLEY" in the city of Codó was the Malagueta restaurant, a pleasant environment for everyone, and the tendency is for larger places to be chosen due to the success and numerous requests from the local public. We may certainly be looking at the birth of an annual event of tradition in Codó town.
