Vivian Jackson, better known as Yabby You, died on January 12, 2010 in Clarendon, Jamaica. The artist was born in Kingston, the island's capital, in 1946 and became known for many classics such as "Conquering Lion", "Deliver me From My Enemies" and "Natty Bongo". One of his albums, "Jesus Dread", is considered one of the greatest classics ever produced in Jamaica and appears on any list of essential Reggae works.
Among the artists produced by Yabby You are names such as Michael Rose, Tonny Tuff, Wayne Wade, Michael Prophet, Big Youth, Dillinger and Trinity. The artist suffered a stroke and was rushed to hospital, where he died at 11 p.m. on January 12. The physical body is gone, but his work will certainly never be forgotten.
