Planta e Raiz, Motivo de Chacota and two more revelations!
The show night on the last 22nd at Projeto Equilibrio got started early, and was undoubtedly lit up under the huge Brazilian flag as Pé-de-cabra's forró shook the legs and hearts of the crowd, giving a delightful start to the night. They played covers of forró classics and people danced to the sway and sensuality of university forró that looks more like a two-person reggae.
Around 1:40 a.m., the band Motivo de Chacota raffled prizes from the WG and North surf brands and tore it up singing Bob Marley, Tribo de Jah, o Rappa and Natiruts. They played their own songs and also featured the former Pato Banton bassist, who put on a show alongside the big man Cotonete, also singing the anthem Get up Stand up accompanied by Gerson from Pânico Urbano and Zeider from Planta e Raíz.
To keep the party going, Trio Cristalino played pé-de-serra forró for the crowd to dance to at a leisurely pace, powering their classic model: accordion, triangle and zabumba. With short intervals between shows, there wasn't even time for the crowd and the atmosphere to cool down, and the highlight came with the entrance of Planta e Raíz.
The guys bet on big hits like, "Planta que brota da terra", "Aquele lugar", "500 anos" and "Com certeza", the most sung and enjoyed song. The second voice, the standout bass and guitar solos made a nearly two-hour show pass in a few moments, revealing more and more the harmony between good music, a competent band and audience. Taking stock of the night overall, you could feel the power of the current reggae and forró scene, with bands emerging thanks to immense musical quality, stage presence and friendship with the audience. In the end the party ended as it began, with the lively crowd heading home early... at 5:30 in the morning.
