Audiogalaxy is the latest victim of the record labels!

Audiogalaxy is

SÃO PAULO - The RIAA, the entity that brings together the world's largest record labels, won another battle in the war against MP3. This time the victim was Audiogalaxy, which since Monday (17th) has blocked the download of copyright-protected music through its network.

The labels and Audiogalaxy, which assumed the post of the most popular service for MP3 exchange after Napster's downfall, announced an agreement to install filters that prevent the exchange of protected material. With this, the legal battle against the service in which the RIAA accused the Austin (Texas)-based company of facilitating and encouraging unauthorized copying of works protected by copyright laws comes to an end.

Despite the fatal blow, the Audiogalaxy.com site remains online and searches are still allowed. However, the result of searches is invariably the same: everything is blocked, from superstars like Metallica and Madonna to Brazilian artists such as CPM 22 and O Surto.
