Reggae dances are banned in the capital of Piauí!

Reggae dances

The Secretary of Public Security of Piauí, Antônio José Morais, banned reggae dances in Teresina (PI). The ban aims to reduce gang fights, deaths and injuries among young people, which, according to the secretary, are very common at such events. The order takes effect starting this Friday.

Reggae dances in the capital of Piauí usually take place in neighborhoods on the city's outskirts, attracting young people from lower social classes. Morais claims that the parties cause on average three deaths and dozens of injuries among attendees every weekend. Surveillance of these places will be carried out by police officers from the 15 police districts of Teresina.
