Someone thought Nação Zumbi wouldn't survive Chico Science's death?

Someone thought

Anyone who doesn't know that the manguebeat folks are, above all, strong. Jorge Du Peixe (promoted from percussion to microphone) and company felt the blow, but soon released the excellent "Rádio S.Amb.A". in 2000, and are now back with "Nação Zumbi", an album that brings changes to the sound. The Pernambuco natives play today at Fundição Progresso, in the project celebrating 20 years of Circo Voador (by the way, the same venture presents O Rappa the following day), and tomorrow they repeat at Lona Gilberto Gil in Realengo.

Nação's characteristic sound — drums dialoguing with Lúcio Maia's guitar — doesn't appear as frequently on the new album. - "We never had just that side..." - explains Jorge Du Peixe. - "We also have reggae and dub influences, which we show on the new CD".
