Fight against piracy: Lula asks artists to lower CD prices!

Fight against

BRASÍLIA - At a meeting with the group of artists who went to the Planalto to thank the government for its efforts in approving the law combating piracy of phonographic products, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva asked them to lower CD prices because the poor population cannot afford to buy them. Paulo Rosa, president of the Brazilian Association of Record Producers, who also took part in the meeting, said that the Brazilian phonographic industry works with very low prices compared to the international market, but promised to study the matter.

The meeting took place in a totally relaxed atmosphere and Lula was presented with a small performance by Gabriel, 'O pensador', who sang part of the song "Cara feia" from his new CD. The president made a point of taking a photo with all the artists and commented on the beauty of Sheila Mello, former member of the group 'É o Tchan'. According to him, Sheila is much more beautiful in person. Vocalist Rogério, from 'Jota Quest', left very satisfied from his first meeting with Lula and said he will never forget today.

- "I had a photo with Roberto Carlos and now I have one with Lula" - he stated.
