Great vocalist Justin Hinds dies, an irreparable loss for world reggae. Check it out!
Star Justin Hinds passed away in the early hours of March 17, 2005, victim of a recently diagnosed cancer. He began his career as a Ska singer in the 60s, recording several hits such as "Carry Go Bring Come" for producer Duke Reid (Treasure Isle). He also recorded for Chris Blackwell (Island/Mango) in the 70s and lastly for the Nighthawk label. Lately, Justin Hinds was living in Paris performing shows with "The Jamaica All Stars", together with great Jamaican musicians such as Johnny Dizzy Moore, Noel Simms, Sparrow Martin... including on the DVD "PORTRAIT OF JAMAICAN MUSIC" you can check out Justin Hinds' performance with "The Jamaican All Stars". Justin Hinds had already come to Brazil for the first edition of the "Maranhão Roots Reggae Festival 2001", and together with the Fully Fullywood Band, gave a great show. His son even recorded a special appearance on Tribo de Jah's DVD.
