GUINNESS BOOK: Meet Jamaican Daddy Freddy, the world's fastest dancehall singer!

Jamaicans really are the fastest in the world, either in Olympic races or in microphones. Even the world record player in athletics, Usain Bolt, would be left behind when Daddy Freddy sends his rhymes. He entered Guinness Book four times as the fastest MC in the world! His performance is impressive both in the studio and live, being Daddy Freddy one of the great names of modern dancehall. Frederick Nelson, a.k.a. Daddy Freddy, was born and raised in the Trenchtown neighborhood, famous Kingston neighborhood, Jamaican capital. Sponsored by Ranking Joe, he began his career in the sound system of an uncle, but in time he went in search of a more modern sound – the “electronic era” began in the dancehall. It was then that he joined Youthman Promotion, Sugar Minott sound system. On the team's Inglaterra tour, Daddy Freddy ended up "taking the reggae scene by storm". His singing and style influenced a generation of MCs, and his success generated several invitations outside the reggae world. He recorded with Queen Latifa, Heavy D, Cypress Hill, George Clinton, Dr. Dre, David Morales, Norman Cook (Fat Boy Slim) and his voice was sampled by Prodigy, Salt´n´Peppa, KRS One and various DJs of jungle and drum and bass.
