"Festejo de Trindade"! Event celebrates local culture and features Tribo de Jah among the attractions!

This is a social event that will take place on October 22 and 23, 2010. It is a commemorative date that recalls the struggle of the people of Trindade for their land; this event marks that date by reviving memories of a "glorious" and "rich" era of culture. There will be two days of sports and cultural attractions, where the community will come together with its own traditions.

On Friday, the event begins at 8:00 a.m. with sports competitions: canoe racing, swimming, beach soccer and group games. As evening falls, the first day of shows runs from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., featuring Davi de Trinda, Fruto do Cerrado and Luiz Perequê. Among the main attractions of the celebration, the photographic exhibition along the main avenue stands out.

One of the hallmarks of the locality has always been recovering local history through photographic records; thus, this exhibition aims to show the entire scope of the traditional culture that existed in the past and remains everlasting. On Saturday, the group games continue from 8:00 a.m. and run throughout the day until the finals. At night, starting at 10:00 p.m., the closing shows begin with the group Voz da Natureza, and from midnight, the main attraction Tribo de Jah closes the commemorative days.

The event will count on the participation of local residents and the collaboration of all friends of Trindade. Among the sponsors are the Paraty City Hall, ICMBio and Eletronuclear. This is a production of the Trindade Residents' Association, with support from local institutions.
