DJ de Dancehall - Risto Benji (Michael Benjamin), prominent in the early 90s scene with hits like "Passport Buddy" and "Gun John Crow" was shot and killed in St. Catherine, Jamaica. It was reported that Benji was sitting outside his home when a man approached and shot him several times. The artist died in the hospital. The police have not yet been able to identify the motivation for his murder.
