Levitas Reggae

Banda received 35% of the votes and will win a video produced by TV Globo. Quadro wants to showcase the talent of little-known bands in the city.

With 35% of the votes in a poll on the G1 website, the band Levitas Reggae was the winner of the first phase of the Brasília Independente project, by TV Globo, a space created to showcase the work of groups and musicians from Distrito Federal. Each week, one band has the chance to perform a song on the board.

Formed in Guará, Levitas has existed for eight years. The group emerged from a meeting of friends who wanted to use music as a form of expression and also as a message instrument to talk about love, justice and peace.

In 2009 they released their first CD, the same name, and now they are going to record a clip produced by TV Globo. Levitas is made up of Lucas dos Anjos on bass, Douglas Gomes on guitar, Jacbo on vocals, Thiago Godoy on drums and Xingu on keyboards.

The Brasília Independente project, by TV Globo, ended the first phase on Saturday (22), with the presentation of eight bands from the federal capital. The second stage of the project began last Saturday, with the performance of singer Tamara Saraiva. Each band or musician has an excerpt from a song presented in the DFTV 1st edition and the full clip on the G1 website.
