Maranhão Roots Reggae Festival brings heavyweight attractions to São Luís in November!
The employees of the Mirante System, especially those who make up the new business and events department, are literally carrying stones. But they are not those used in civil construction. These are the sound stones of reggae, which will take place between November 9th, 10th and 11th at the Maranhão Roots Reggae Festival – 4th. Centennial, an event promoted by the Mirante Communication System in partnership with Itamaraty Sonorizações. With only three editions, the Maranhão Roots Reggae Festival has already established itself as one of the great reggae festivals in Brazil, with national prominence and recognition. And all this was not for nothing, in all editions Jamaican singers of international weight, Brazilian bands, local artists, djs, radio stations and a record audience made up of fans and sympathizers from Maranhão and also people who traveled from their cities of origin to enjoy the event here in the capital. Just to remember some of the attractions that have already been here, in 2001 U Roy, The Itals, Justin Hinds And The Dominoes, Fullyfullwood Band, Sylvia Tella, Clinton Fearon, Tribo de Jah, Santa Cruz, Tony Tavares, Gerude, Célia Sampaio, Filhos de Jah, Mano Bantu, Jorge Tadeu, Zé Lopes, dance groups and radio stations performed. In 2003, Big Youth, Eric Donaldson, Fullyfullwood Band, Honey Boy, Sylvia Tella, Gilberto Gil, Natiruts, Tribo de Jah, Filhos de Jah, Tony Tavares, Manu Bantu, dance groups and radio stations, and in 2005 the event maintained its quality. Pablo Moses, The Pioneers, Dennis Alcapone, The Amazonians, Eric Donaldson, Sly Fox, Cidade Negra, Reggae Style, Alê Muniz, Luciana Simões, Andread Jó, Tribo de Jah, Nengo Vieira, Santa Cruz, Mano Bantu, Djembe, dance groups and radiolas.
