Jai Mahal e os Pacíficos da Ilha are back and performing in São Paulo! Not to be missed!

The national reggae band is back. Jai Mahal and Os Pacificos da Ilha are setting Brazilian stages on fire in 2014. The album "Invisívelman" has already hit the road, and the next date is in São Paulo, this Thursday, June 5th. The reggae party will be at Centro Cultural Rio Verde, in Vila Madalena, and will feature the opening act of the band Ambulantes, inviting Theo Reis, son of Nando Reis. (Fun fact: when they were teenagers, Nando and Jai Mahal had a reggae band). Brazilian reggae with the “roots” seal of quality, as it should be: bass with a pulsating groove, percussive drums, hypnotic keyboard, reverbs and good doses of blues, samba rock and soul music, in the spirit of someone who has a lot of knowledge about the subject. The participations are very, very special. The sunny “Sarou” is a partnership with Arnaldo Antunes, which also features the voice of Pernambuco diva Isaar. “Domingo 23”, a song by Jorge Ben Jor, gets an acoustic drum and bass version with a dub flavor, boosted by the psychedelic guitar of Lucio Maia (Nação Zumbi/Zulumbi), who plays counterpoint with another guest, Osvaldinho da Cuíca, creating a transcendental heavy samba sound. Osvaldinho also distills his talent in “Caminho do Mar” - an unusual mix of samba rock with soul and reggae. The mix of "Invisívelman" is signed by Victor Rice and Buguinha Dub. Who plays bass on almost all tracks is the celebrated Maranhão musician Gerson da Conceição, who also produced the album alongside Jai Mahal. BOOMBASTIC!
