Not 'Charlie Hebdo'! Rafael Pondé releases song criticizing media and global press
Back in the United States for a series of shows and the recording of his new work, singer and songwriter Rafael Pondé has just released "Je ne suis pas Charlie", a new song made with partners Lucas Pondé and Igor Caxixi after the terrorist attack on the French newspaper Charlie Hebdo. The song was recorded recently at Medusa Studio in Florida. The band accompanying the artist on the recording is made up of American musicians Alex Crook on drums, Dru Michelle on piano, Dave Cotton on bass, Carissa Lawrence on vocals, Brian Stevens and Andy on horns, plus Swedish musical producer based in Bahia, Sebastian Notini, who plays percussion and signs the new work together with the artist.

EXPORT PRODUCT

It is not the first time Pondé has recorded an album outside Brazil, since his fourth album entitled "Sorriso de Flor" was recorded in Germany by the Peppermint Park label. However, he highlights the fact that the American musicians identify with musical production, mainly from South America and Africa. This project carried out between the United States and Brazil will show a little of what the current musical world is with its various "accents", forged by musicians who broke the borders of their respective countries".

Invited by journalist Carlos Borges, Pondé will also take part in May in the Brazilian Press Awards, one of the largest awards for Brazilian artists residing in the USA, held every year in Miami. In 2015, the honored artist will be Daniela Mercury and the singer will perform the song "Minas com Bahia". Pondé highlights the support he received from the Federal Government, through the Cultural Exchange and Diffusion program of the Ministry of Culture: Nothing defines a country better than its culture, hence the importance of carrying Brazil's values forward".
