On a stint in the United States since March of this year, singer and songwriter Rafael Pondé has just released another music video, the third in the series produced at Estúdio Medusa, located in Florida.
The chosen song is "Leve seu Amor", which showcases a fusion of rhythms and styles, bringing together Brazil, Jamaica and the USA with a pop sound and flirting with the ragga beat, a branch of reggae that Pondé knows well from his time in the bands Natiruts and Diamba, in which he served as songwriter and guitarist.
This song had previously been recorded by the band No Sal from Minas Gerais, in 2009. Now it gains a definitive version, even in a bilingual format, being sung in Portuguese and English" — Pondé points out.
Last week, the artist recorded an interview for Globo Internacional in New York, talking a bit about his experience of promoting Brazilian music.
My mission here in the USA is to work and promote as much as possible the musical and historical culture of Bahia and Brazil, encompassing the various eras and musical traditions, since there is a gap between Bossa Nova and the diverse sounds produced currently in our country" — he defines.

Among the highlights of the artist's extensive show schedule in the United States are a performance at the prestigious venue Sob's in New York on July 18, and another at Brazilian Fest in Pompano Beach, Florida on October 17. In addition, Pondé has already performed in cities in Florida, Georgia and Pennsylvania.
