O mundo of reggae says goodbye à lenda of trombone, Rico Rodriguez! See it on Surforeggae!

Emmanuel "Rico" Rodriguez, a trombone legend since the Ska era, passed away today, September 4. He was born in Cuba but moved to Jamaica with his family as a child, where he grew up and learned to play the instrument with another legend, Don Drummond, at Alpha Boys School. Rico would have turned 81 in October. The musician had been in poor health for quite some time, and after a brief hospital stay he passed away. Among the classics he recorded are the album "Man from Wareika" and various works with The Specials, most notably the track "A Message to you Rudy".
