The secret of Richie Spice's success is in the roots. He was born in the 1970s in Kingston, a suburb of St. Andrews, Jamaica. His musical family includes older brother Pliers (producer of Chakademus and Pliers) and singer Spanner Banner. Richie is considered a master of a branch of contemporary reggae, mixing old-school rhythms with modern touches and the already familiar dancehall.
