Correria! Regiane Cordeiro releases a solo single video after six years of career! Watch!
Rush is a request, a call to belonging and the right to exist artistically independent of the approval of spaces of power”. This is how São Paulo singer-songwriter Regiane Cordeiro summarizes her first solo single, "Correria". The song will be released on June 12th on the main digital platforms and will be accompanied by a music video.
(Singer Regiane Cordeiro)
The song talks about the struggle of being an independent artist - especially an artist, woman, black and peripheral - and was created by Regiane a few years ago, especially for a project focused on sound system culture. It was kept among the singer's writings until now, when she decided to show the song to the world. Her lyrics say a lot to my heart, as they show how the structure of the independent ‘corre’ works of a black and peripheral Brazilian artist, who still insists on surviving with music in this country”, explains Regiane.
(Clip from "Correria")
Owner of a differentiated vocal power in the national reggae scene, Regiane is known and celebrated in the independent music scene in the capital of São Paulo. A member of the vocal group Dawtas Of Aya and the band Ambulantes, throughout the six years of her musical career she has carried out several national and international partnerships, which took her on a tour in Europe in 2018 and on the cover of the American magazine Irie Mag. Regarding when the single will be released, the singer is categorical. I decided that this would be my first official single, both because of the moment, which is very pertinent, and because of the need to express myself during this pandemic.”Such criticism cannot, in my opinion, be muzzled or deterred by the courts at the instance of public officials under the label of libel.
