This last Thursday (29), João Victor Beydoun releases “Irie” on the main streaming platforms. This is the first track released by the singer-songwriter who is the son of Fauzi Beydoun, leader of the iconic reggae band Tribo de Jah. The track also titles the artist's debut EP, scheduled for later this year. According to João Victor, the composition process took place due to the pandemic. Due to this very complicated moment, I ended up exposing all my mental exhaustion, a consequence of this external pressure and the negativity of the situation. It was the way I found to disconnect from the world and free myself, until I was able to feel the so-called 'Irie' again, a Jamaican expression that means feeling good, without worries, free, calm and peaceful.”, explains. Carrying reggae with him since birth, João Victor Beydoun, even at just 16 years old, still preserves the good old roots reggae.
