Born in São Paulo, Aline Duran grew up listening to Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Freddie Mercury and Janis Joplin, as well as Bob Marley and Jimmy Cliff. But at age 12, she developed a passion for reggae after discovering artists such as Ini Kamoze, Third World, Shaggy, and Born Jamericans - she began writing songs at 15 as a way to express her thoughts and emotions, and decided to take music seriously at 19, when she enrolled at the Christian School of Music, in addition to joining Coral USP. At 21, she became a backing vocalist in a reggae band, where she immersed herself deeply in Jamaican music.

After some time, she decided to leave the band to pursue a solo career, and in 2004 she performed at several shows and cultural events in the city of São Paulo; most notably, "Grito Cultural Reggae", which drew more than 80,000 people to Pacaembu Stadium. Through her striking stage presence, she began to gain ground on the music scene in South America. She represented Brazil at the "Dynamic Reggae Soundclash" in Argentina, an opportunity that led to several later trips to the country. In 2008, she released her debut album "Novo Dia" (Deckdisc), an album of original material that is considered one of the great works of contemporary reggae in Brazil, and played music festivals such as "Humaitá Pra Peixe" in Rio de Janeiro and the "GAS Festival" in São Paulo. The following year (2009), she toured Brazil alongside reggae music icons Don Carlos and Apple Gabriel. The single "É com você" was played on the country’s major radio stations, and the music video aired on Brazil’s main music channels, such as VH1, BIS, MTV, Multishow and MixTv.

With her name reaching a new level, the video was selected to be shown on the MTVHive (USA), MTVUk and MTVAsia portals in mid-2011. That same year, Aline released the single "Sorrir pra mim", and performed at "Virada Cultural 2011" in São Paulo with Mad Professor, and at "Boarding Film Festival", a film festival in Argentina. In 2012, she was invited by UOL to take part in a tribute to the Rolling Stones, and recorded her own version of "Love is strong" from the album Voodoo Lounge. In 2013, she recorded a version of "Can’t Buy Me Love" in a duet with Andrew Tosh, appearing alongside some of the leading artists in international reggae for the album "Tributo Reggae aos Beatles".

That same year, she won an award at "Melhores do Reggae" as best female artist by public vote. In 2014, her second album "Sente o Som" was released. It included the song "I Believe in You", a duet with Bunny Rugs, vocalist of the renowned band Third World. She was also invited to act in the film "Um Salve Doutor", and her song "Bem-vindo à selva" was added to the feature film’s soundtrack. Performing with a full band or with a DJ, Aline Duran conveys an energy that captivates the audience:

The show is the moment when I give myself over, because there is this exchange with people. It is where the music becomes ours.
