In a reality where it is not uncommon to hear stories of stars who emerge from Jamaica's ghettos, few have faced the battle and achieved international success and fame like Apple Gabriel. An original member of the globally renowned trio Israel Vibration, Apple decided to pursue a solo career in the late 1990s, subsequently releasing his first album "Another Moses". During his career with Israel Vibration, Apple contributed to some of the group's greatest hits and was the creator of the surreal vocal harmonies that were the trio's trademark. Composer of a seemingly endless list of hits such as "There is No End", "Falling Angels", "Mud Up", "Rude boy Shufflin'", "Lift Up Your Conscience", "We A De Rasta", "Why You So Craven", "Jah Solid Rock" and "Middle East", Apple continues to be loved and admired by those with ears sensitive to quality music.
In his solo career, Apple not only brings to light his brilliant work with Israel Vibration, but also his new sounds and influences allied to his unmistakable style and vocals that have captivated new and old fans alike. Having had a difficult childhood, Apple contracted polio at three years old and was sent to a Rehabilitation Center in Jamaica. "There I would just sit and sing all day," he recalls. Showing an interest in music since childhood, Apple learned to play piano on his own, having written his first song "Things of the Morning" at ten years old.
