Acclaimed and respected by critics, the band "Bambú Station" is one of the most provocative and deepest roots reggae groups since Bob Marley & The Wailers. Bambu Station was founded in 1996 by vocalist Jalani Horton, a dedicated musician who throughout his life sought the improvement of poetry and music. For two years, Bambu Station played and toured regionally, developing a sound that was received with great enthusiasm by fans eager for the roots vibe. This encouraged the band to establish its own studio and later record its first album called "Congo Moon", released by "High Rotation Records" in November 1999.

The energy of the album led one of its songs to be selected on a compilation called "Walking on Pennsylvania Avenue", released by "Open Source Record Label", which proposed to have profits reverted to the treatment of children with AIDS. In 2000, Bambu Station independently released the single "Amadou Diallo", in memory of the brutal murder of the African of the same name, which happened in New York. The single was the official "anthem" of the march that took place in 2001 in honor of the African in Washington, capital of the United States of America.

In May 2002, Bambu Station was finally recognized worldwide with its compilation called "Bambu Station Presents – Talkin' Roots I", released by "Mr. Nebo Records". This album immediately became a chart success and ranked among the best sellers worldwide, generating praise from music critics around the world impressed by the richness of such work.

The band opened the year 2003 with one of the most crucial releases in the history of Roots Reggae – "One Day". Acclaimed worldwide by critics and public alike, it permanently expanded Bambu Station's work to the whole world. Selected as "Album of the Year 2003" by the "D.C. Annual Reggae Awards", with the title track – "One Day" also selected as song of the year, and as if that were not enough the band was selected as Production of the Year. All this repercussion made the Caribbean Islands of St. Croix and St. Thomas boil again, which today is one of the "strongholds" of Roots Reggae worldwide.
