The solo project of composer and rapper BNegão (known to many as one of the vocalists of Planet Hemp) officially began in 1999, when he was called to perform at the first "Hip-Hop Rio" party, where he stood out for his lyrics and distinctive beats. His first solo album ("solo-de-banda," as the rapper usually says) "Enxugando Gelo", considered by critics as one of the best releases of 2003, even winning the Dynamite Award (the biggest independent music award in Brazil), in the category "best Rap/Black Music album".

In the beginning, performances consisted only of electronic backing and two vocals, but the project kept adding collaborations and evolving until the current point: today, BNegão is accompanied by the band Os Seletores de Frequência composed of musicians prominent in the national alternative scene. Live performances have also earned strong praise for BSF, in shows throughout the national territory, even taking them on two successful European tours (Spain, England, Portugal and Germany) in 2004. In 2006, they repeat the tour in the European summer, boarding at the end of June for Spain (Festi Chan and Festival Cultura Quente) and Porto (Festival Bumbos e Beats). The guy's sound is ecumenically dominated by what the rapper usually calls the "B-side of Black Music": read Dub, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Funk 70, Ragga, Samba and Miami Bass, and can also reach the realms of Hardcore and Grind-Core.
