Over seven years together, the band's musical work gained experience and expressive strength, blending Caribbean rhythms such as Ragga, Ska and Dub with elements of Brazilian music. The band Brasucas' new album is titled "Armadura do Leão". The hottest novelty on the record is the special participation of Jamaican singer Mykal Rose. In addition to other special guests, the album features 17 original songs and consolidates the band as a pioneer in the Ragga/Dancehall scene in Brasília. Started in October 2001 in the country's capital, the band BRASUCAS was born from the union of three friends: Felipe Terrana (Bass), Fellipe Sobral (Vocalist and Guitarist) and Marcelo Pahl (Drummer).

In 2006, the addition of another childhood friend Emanuel Ferreira (Keyboards) consolidated the band's current lineup. With two demo CDs on the market and shows in various state capitals across the country, the band built its work always through independent production. In this context, vocalist Fellipe Souljah, who lived in England (London), had an unexpected encounter. One night at a pub in Brixton, where the heavy bass of the famous Aba Shanti Sound System was booming, Souljah was introduced to Mykal Rose by a friend. Mykal then had access to the band's work and wanted to sing on one of the album's Riddims.

It was at Jet Star studio in London that the song written by Mykal Rose, titled Conqueror, was recorded. It is worth remembering that Mykal Rose was the first reggae singer to receive a Grammy statuette, in 1984, with the song "What is Life", from the album "Anthem" by the band Black Uhuru. In addition to the participation of the legendary Jamaican singer, the band had the surprise of yet another international guest. Englishman David Simpson collaborated by singing the song Casted, of his own authorship. Some tracks on the album were mixed in London by sound engineer Soso Calvin, in the same studio where Mykal and David recorded. Another contribution on the album comes from Brazilian singer and songwriter RaggaDeMente, with participation on the song Pela Fé. RaggaDeMente has eight years on the road in the Ragga/Dancehall style, and his songs are among the most played on Ragga radio stations in Europe. The album also features the participation of Cristiano Saxman and Marconi on horns, Pablo Fagundes, the famous Brasília harmonica player who shows his intimacy with the flute on the track "Horizontes Amarelos Dub", Bruno Jahcob on backing vocals and Da Lua (ex-jahcareggae) on percussion.

With the release, the band brings a new breath of life and contributes to placing Brazilian reggae in the global context. With a message of love, respect and dedication, the result is precise, consistent reggae with high musical quality. According to Fellipe Sobral, the album has been in the works since 2005 and therefore involves a great deal of effort. "Here in Brazil we are in a process of planting the flag of true Reggae, its culture and roots," he affirms. Essentially Reggae, with touches of Ragga, Reggaeton, Dancehall, R&B and Brazilian rhythms, "Armadura do Leão" stands as one of the best national reggae albums of recent times, and shows that the band BRASUCAS entered the history of Brazilian Reggae through the front door.
