Mark Mohr and Christafari are pioneers of Reggae Gospel in the United States and the world. They have performed at two Olympics and even for the American President. With their blend of traditional roots reggae and contemporary dancehall, they proclaim a positive message of hope and salvation for a lost generation. After nearly two decades the group remains very strong, proving that critics who once considered them merely a fad were wrong.

The band's name came from the idea of "a group of people who collectively represent Christ". Christafari was founded in 1989 by songwriter, producer and vocalist Mark Mohr. Mark grew up in a Christian family, having gone through various problems in his adolescence, such as involvement with drugs, alcohol, and even ganja cultivation. After an encounter with God at 18, Mark dedicated his life to the works of the Almighty. At that time his greatest desire was to help other people free themselves from the slavery he was once a victim of. That is when the first reggae gospel band in America was born.

In a short time Christafari achieved success. Their third album, "Valley of Decision" is to this day the best-selling reggae gospel album in the history of the genre. Christafari has received various awards and continues to be the true Ambassador of Reggae Gospel in the world, having visited more than 35 countries on 4 continents. To name a few, they have passed through Germany, England, Finland, Argentina, Aruba, Belize, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Curacao, Grand Cayman, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, Kenya, Mexico, Netherlands, Puerto Rico and Uganda.
