The Cimarons can rightly claim their place as the first major British reggae band. Formed in London in 1967, they toured the UK with their singers and backing vocalists. After a tour in Africa they released their first single, "Mammy Blue".\r\r\nThey followed with the albums "In Time" and "On the Rock". In the 1970s they released the ambitious album "Maka", featuring the epic "Ethiopian Rhapsody." On 1982’s "Reggaebility" they included several versions of popular Beatles songs, which drew attention to the band. Their material remained distinctive and is prized by roots reggae connoisseurs.
