David Kirton is a vibrant, modern Roots Reggae singer/songwriter from the Barbados islands. His first album, "Stranger" on RAS Records showed that Reggae influences could be incorporated into sounds from other cultures and emerge with a completely original musical style. David's talent combines great songwriting skill with melodic vocals that won over Jamaican composer/producer Mikey Bennett. They recorded David's second album, "Modern Roots" at his studio called "Grafton" and at "Marley Studio" in Kingston, Jamaica.

Bennett's goal was to keep David's original sound while expanding his roots base using some of Jamaica's greatest musicians. "Modern Roots" remained in the Top 20 releases of 2002. David Kirton's newest release, "Island Songs for Children" is a collection of songs that call upon the characteristics and traditions of Caribbean life. With his charismatic live performances, David Kirton has been collecting positive reviews and criticism, and with everyone's help is becoming one of the brightest new artists of today.

Having been a prominent presence at major festivals such as "Reggae on The River", "Bob Marley Day" and "Monterey Reggae Festival", David is very close to becoming a leading star. The singer masters three languages — German, French and Spanish — and is establishing himself worldwide.
