We can say with certainty that Djambi is one of the greatest representatives of the reggae genre in Brazil. Thousands of kilometers are traveled each year independently spreading their messages and the original sound of their music around the world. They have recorded five CDs, one DVD, released two compilations and had two music videos aired on MTV Brasil.

Today with Rodolpho Grani, "Xaba" on vocals, Marcelo Nassar on bass, Mauricio Nassar on drums, Denis Barbosa, "Magrão" on guitar, Klaus Cardoso on keyboards, Claudio Peppe on percussion and Neno Silva on guitar and vocals, Djambi, a Curitiba group, is directly associated with Ilha do Mel on the Paraná coast.

The song "Barca" (...this is the boat to Ilha do Mel...) became an anthem among the island's inhabitants and visitors and a hit on southern Brazil radio. But Djambi crossed borders. The band's history includes several tours across Brazil and more than ten international ones, with shows in various European countries and the United States, playing at renowned venues and festivals such as SunSplash in Italy, Reggae Sun Dance in the Netherlands, Calliente Festival and the Montreux Festival in Switzerland.

They shared the stage with great names like Ziggy Marley, Junior Marvin (ex-The Wailers), Andrew Tosh, Peter Broggs, Toots and The Maytals, Muta Baruka, Julian Marley, Skatalites, Steel Pulse, Mikael Rose, Papa Winnie and Linton Kwesi Johnson.

They represented Brazil at the Year of Brazil in France 2005 alongside Seu Jorge, Velha Guarda da Portela, Hermeto Pascoal, Marcelo D2, among others. In 2007, Djambi was elected by the public as the Curitiba band to represent the city in the Estúdio Coca-Cola project alongside Pitty and NXZero.

Being one of the first Brazilian bands to include a dub version on an independent album, Djambi has already worked with masters of the genre like Mad Professor and Scientist. In 2011 Djambi seeks national recognition.

After performing for thousands of people at "Projeto Virada Cultural 2010" in downtown São Paulo, Djambi is developing this year, among other projects, the recording of a DVD with new songs and full presence on social networks for direct communication/interaction with their audience.
