Donaleda

With 4 CDs released over 14 years of existence, Donaleda is the largest original reggae band in Ceará and one of the largest in the North/Northeast. Since 2001 Donaleda has been promoting the reggae it produces. The first result of this work is the album "Liberdade e Libertação", released in 2003, which took the band to the top of the hit charts on radio in Fortaleza and other cities in the Northeast, with the hits Sistema Babilônico, Luz de Jah and Canto.

After several shows in the North and Northeast of Brazil and a tour with Jamaican Eric Donaldson, Donaleda released in 2005 its second album entitled "Resistência da Pedra", placing the hit "H para os Presos" which originated its 1st music video.

Following the road with its original reggae and with much originality, at the beginning of 2008, Donaleda recorded the album "Tudo Tens de Rever". The album features a bonus track in partnership with Jamaican singer Eric Donaldson, performing the track "I'm Survivor".

Among various shows performed by the band, highlights include: Ceará Music 2003 and 2004, I International Reggae Festival in Fortaleza in 2005, Petrobras Music Festival in 2005, Expocrato from 2004 to 2006, Ceará Reggae Showcase in 2008, Ceará Vacation Festival in 2011 and A Noite do Cachorro Doido which took place in Belém do Pará in 2011, Fifa Fan Fest in 2014.

The band also shared the stage with great names of national and international music such as: The Original Wailers, Stell Pulse, Honey Boy, Andrew Tosh (son of Peter Tosh), Cidade Negra, Natiruts, Skank, Gabriel Pensador, Chico César, O Rappa, Graundation, among others.

Always performing shows in various cities of the North and Northeast (Fortaleza, Teresina, São Luís, Belém, Natal, João Pessoa...) in 2011 the band released its 4th fully original CD entitled VIBE POSITIVA, with a more regional feel and participation by singer Waldonys. In 2015 DONALEDA prepares to release its 5th CD VIDA LABIRINTO, with special participations by Nayra Costa and Cedric Myton (original THE CONGOS) on the song Beside You, with the aim of expanding its songs to other regions of the country.

In partnership with Messias Holanda, Dominguinhos, Adelson Viana, Waldonys, Carlinhos Nação, the band Donaleda is becoming a precursor of the FORREGAE movement in Ceará, a junction of forró pé-de-serra with reggae.
