Dread Daze

New release

Di-Wall

31 · - · -

Najashi, vocalist and leader of Dread Daze, strongly believes in intellectual creativity and in each person's struggle to bring better things to the world we live in today. Born in New York, USA, and having lived between Kingston (Jamaica) and Los Angeles (California), Najashi captured under a unique gaze the experience of people from each place, which is reflected in the group's music. Considered a composer of intelligent and provocative lyrics, combined with an arrangement of musical beats ranging from real instrumentation to digital drum loops, Najashi conveys real-life events as well as stories. The band is formed by Brian Ward/Belfast Posse (guitar/vocals), Issac/Dread I (keyboards/vocals), Brain C (bass) and DJ Thergood (samplers, Djembe).

Together, they have been leaving their mark on the music scene, having shared the stage with legends such as Steel Pulse, Arrested Development, FishBone, Pato Banton, Eek A Mouse, Half Pint, Mikey Dread, Wailing Souls, the Abyssinians, Don Carlos, among others. They also had the opportunity to record with members of The Black Eyed Peas, Will I Am, Jurassic 5, Chali 2na and Akil, James Early, Slash, Paul De Carli and many others.

Dread Daze was one of the last bands to record at Motown Studio (which is now closed). There, legends such as Marvin Gaye, Lionel Richie and Jackson 5 created their musical history. Although highly influenced by Reggae, Dread Daze uses elements that combine not only Jamaican music, but also Hip-Hop, Soul and Rock, complemented with rich wind instruments. The first album "Di Wall" was released in July 2008 and provides highly positive messages that deserve to be heard.
