It all started in 2001. I remember as if it were today, I was in my twenties and was accompanied by two guys who liked to jam. Gustavo Xavier (Gordão) was the percussionist and Carlos Pereira (Calanga) was the lead guitarist. We ventured through the city's bars, mainly those near the universities. We were a trio. Since that time I already thought about something more serious regarding music and that thought is what strengthened the will to compose songs like 'Lute Pela Paz' and 'Reggae de Violão' that would later make up the repertoire of the first album I released with Negroots in 2005.

That year I already saw myself as leader of the band (6 members counting me) that was already part of the small reggae scene set up by the former producer K-Root'z. 'Lute pela paz' became the working song and the first album was released with the title 'Troque pelo bom'. It gave me the opportunity to get to know this whole scene up close. There were wonderful tours I did with the band and there is no shortage of stories to tell.

We recorded with much difficulty and sweat the second album which in 2011 was released with the name 'Paz & Amor'. It was the message of that moment. The songs 'Olhos de criança' and 'Nós contra vocês' entered the programming of 105 Fm and although production was independent, without sponsorship or managers, we managed to sell a reasonable amount of CDs in the underground world.

But faced with the survival difficulties of an underground band, I was practically cornered in my thoughts to see music from another angle, and for that reason, I who in 2001 founded this whole history, decided to close it indefinitely in 2013 to begin a new stage of my life. I was already following my solo career without even knowing it. I moved to the more interpretive side and went through a 'dry' moment in composition.

Parallel to the band, I was already performing in the city's bars. I interpreted Brazilian songs on my guitar in reggae format and pleased another type of audience. From this new experience came the desire to compose again and with that I could unite old compositions with newer and current songs, giving origin to my first solo album called 'LIVRE'.

From all this I only have to thank all those who accompanied me as a member of Negroots and all who still accompany me today, especially those who helped build a piece of my small history that is starting again now: Gordão, Calanga, Juca, Tiagão, Elsinho, Dil, Danilo, Papinha, Fábio, Léo and Cris. May this new work add something to people's lives!
