Igor Salify developed his passion for music as a child, the time of his first contact with Reggae. His interest in Africa and the culture of his ancestors later gave rise to his artistic surname, which is also a tribute to the African icon "Salif Keita". "Salify" (as he is affectionately called by fans and friends), in a self-taught way became a musician as a teenager leading the band Direto ao Ponto, where he sang, played and composed for 8 years.

In 2012, Igor met Werner Argolo, a young talent in Brazilian music production specializing in vintage timbres, jazz and soul, with the background of major projects such as the band Serial Funkers and Lancaster, considered the country's greatest blues guitarist. Naturally, as with the friendship, the album "O Peão e o Rei" was born, which pleased specialized critics and the public, released nationally in 2015 by the label Surforeggae Sound-System Brazil.

Entirely original, the first fruit of this partnership was mastered in Jamaica by Delroy "Spiderman" Thompson, sound engineer for legends such as Bob Marley, Dennis Brown and Peter Tosh. The impact of the work guaranteed Salify's participation in major events opening for renowned national bands and also a performance at República do Reggae - the largest festival of the genre in Latin America for an estimated audience of 20 thousand people.

Given a great ease in composing lyrics and melodies, the duo quickly gathered new songs and felt the need to express and celebrate creativity in a new work, going even further this time. Thus the album "Vivendo o Agora" was born, with the certainty that this duo together with incredible musicians will yield many good fruits for national reggae.
