Officially founded on July 11, 1999, the date of their first performance, and formed by Xande (guitar and vocals), Fred (vocals), Leomar (drums and vocals) and Gustavo "The Flash" (keyboards), Macucos, with four CDs released [Macucos (2002), Os quatro elementos (2004), Surf Trip (2007) and Coletânea (2011)] and almost twelve years of history, is already considered a reference on the national scene.
Macucos has already performed at the main events and venues in Brazil such as: Festival de Alegre-ES, Forreggae-SP, Festival de Verão de Salvador-BA, Festa da Penha-ES, Festival de Reggae de Canavieiras-BA, Guarafest, Lapa Multishow-MG, Vitória Music Festival, Multiplace Mais, Hard Rock Café/BH etc.
They have also shared the stage with several renowned national bands, such as: Cidade Negra, Armandinho, Chimarruts, Los Hermanos, O Rappa, Skank, Tribo de Jah, Natiruts, Planta e Raiz, Alma D´Jem, Detonautas, Thijuana, Ivete Sangalo, Charlie Brown Jr. among others.
The band had a stint with Sony Music, a period during which they released their first music video, directed by renowned director Jhonny Araújo and heavily played on MTV, MULTSHOW and SPORT TV channels. Some of their biggest hits are: Haverá, Além do Mar, Cidade de Cor, Festa Dub, Stop, Sonho Rasta, Meu Mar, Na Beira do Mar, Tchau, Outra Vida, Menina do Hawaii, etc.
After winning the award for best reggae band 2004 and 2005, best show 2004 by Rádio Cidade FM 97.7 and being elected the second most popular band in Espírito Santo by Instituto Futura, in a recent survey, the band Macucos hits the road with new songs, thus bringing something new for longtime fans.
Macucos has just released new songs that are already hits on Capixaba radio stations, such as, for example, Tchau (fruit of the Macucos and Armandinho partnership), Rimoterapia, Destino Incerto, Outra Vida and Menina do Hawaii. Recently they also recorded their first DVD, which will be released soon in stores throughout Brazil. Now Macucos aims for even greater heights, crossing the borders of Espírito Santo to consolidate the success achieved in their home state across the entire country.
