In 1999, the gaúcho JAMIL KOFF (ALEMÃO) began realizing a dream: to create a Reggae band and make a living from music. His band went through several lineups until reaching the current MARAUÊ. In 2002, on a tour across the country, more precisely in the interior of Rio de Janeiro, in the city of Barra Mansa, he met TATI FREITAS. They discovered, beyond love, a shared passion: music! TATI, who had always enjoyed singing, joined the band as backing vocalist. At the end of 2003, on a tour along the São Paulo coast, they met bassist ALAN DE OLIVEIRA, who joined them.

Some time later, back in the south, they invited ESTEVÃO GRAZELLI (guitar), TUTI SAGÜI (drums and percussion), EDILSON DE PAULA (keyboards) to join them. The band "Sintonia Reggae" was formed. In 2005, they recorded their first CD, went to Rio de Janeiro and continued in the "battle" for recognition. During this period they met a man who claimed to be a manager in the artistic world, who took them to the northeast. First ALEMÃO and TATI went, then ALAN, ESTEVÃO, TUTI and EDILSON. But the "manager's" promises were not fulfilled.

Without shows and without money, this group went through the hardest struggle they had ever faced. But giving up was never a word that was part of this group's vocabulary. They then started chasing after work. They played in bars, music venues and even a bakery. They played rhythms such as Pop, Axé and MPB, without of course stopping playing Reggae, which had always been in their veins. With this mix of styles, they changed the band's name to MARAUÊ. Amid so many expectations about the future, a LIGHT appeared: They had been chosen from among more than 40,000 bands to participate in the segment "OLHA MINHA BANDA" on CALDEIRÃO DO HUCK. The "MARAUÊ FAMILY" is now writing a new STORY.
