The band MARIMBA emerged in Brasília in 2003, initially under the name Casulo do Cerrado. In mid-2005 the group decided to change its name and start a new history from scratch. Then with Mary Cruz, Fernando Campos and Rafael Monte Rosa, a new project called MARIMBA was born, driven by a single desire to make music and express themselves. There were countless days when together they produced new songs, often working late into the night in the pre-production and conception phase of the first CD entitled Reggae Music.

The Reggae Music album was an independently produced work with musical production by Daniel Félix, recorded and mixed at his MixRuts-DF studio, and mastered by Carlos Freitas at Classic Master in São Paulo, featuring great participations from Brasília and national artists such as brothers Haroldinho and Paulinho Mattos, guitarist Kiko Peres, Leander Motta, Móises Alves, Bruno Medina, Alciomar Oliveira, Renato Vasconcellos, among others.

The band's proposal is to mix elements of roots and popular music, uniting reggae with rock, bossa nova, maracatu, soul, hip-hop, regional and any other good music the group hears and identifies with. LEGITIMATELY BRAZILIAN MUSIC. In 2008, Rafael Monte Rosa left the group leaving his mark on the band and following other work. In 2009 the band underwent a lineup change. Mary Cruz continued composing the group's songs together with Fernando Campos who took over vocals and guitar, inviting Lucas dos Anjos on bass, a local artist known for playing in the band Levitas Reggae, who in turn called Felipe Semente, a promising drummer of the city's new generation of musicians, and completing the band Rafael Zulu, keyboardist of the band Terra Prometida, took over the keyboards. The theme of the lyrics highlights exactly a new vision the band has about reggae, reoriented by a lighter, more current and Brazilian perspective. Currently, Marimba is formed by Fernando Campos on vocals and rhythm guitar, Lucas dos Anjos on bass, Felipe Semente on drums, Rafael Zulu on keyboards, and behind the scenes Mary Cruz enchants with the lyrics and music she composes especially for the group.

Marimba has already played with artists such as David Hubbard, Pablo Moses, Natiruts, Armandinho, besides participating in birthday celebrations for masters Bob Marley and Peter Tosh and the three editions of Super Jam Session, a fest that stopped Brasília in a great solidarity meeting of Brazilian reggae. On their last tour in Salvador, they shared the stage with local standout artists such as O Círculo, Pirigulino Babilake and the Swedes King Fari. Now, with producer Luis Alberto Santos, Impacto Promoções, Marimba begins a new process of promoting and playing their songs on radio and at major events, reaching the general public with their message and musicianship, generating shows in major cities.
