Maskavo is preparing to release its new album after 6 years of waiting. With production by Bruno Prieto, Prata and Rodrigo Sanches (Cachorro Grande, Max de Castro, MCA), it was recorded at the legendary Trama studios and mixed by Rodrigo Sanches himself at Mega-sp and the innovative Rootsans studios. With the title MASKAVO LOVERS ROCK,
Marceleza (vocals), Prata (guitar) and Bruno Prieto (bass) dive headfirst into the romantic side of Jamaican reggae with their Brazilian influences and lyrics about love, peace and positivity. Mastering is by Chris Gehringer (Snoopy Dog, Madonna, Rihanna) at Sterling Sound, NY.

There are 12 new tracks in total, full of the band's reggae and rock influences, well-crafted rhythms, powerful bass lines, striking guitar riffs and well-balanced, timbred keyboards. A novelty in the sound is the use of psychedelia and dancefloor-oriented beats. The lyrics are always direct and romantic, some autobiographical,
composed by Maskavo himself with long-time band partners such as Marcelo Mira (ex-alma d'jem), Felipe Passos (band keyboardist) and Breno Brites (Bilis Negra), Bruno's twin brother.

One of the album's bets is "as horas não voltam", chosen as the first promotional track, opening the doors to what follows. Another highlight is "queremos mais", which stands out for rescuing the tradition of roots reggae with dub elements, referring the band back to its Jamaican essence. In "areia branca", one of the few with acoustic guitars, it recalls the Transe Acústico DVD and enters the popular side of Brazilian music. "Alma de gato" comes to represent the most tender moment of the album, with an elaborate arrangement, bringing out the influence of the English band The Police.

With MASKAVO LOVERS ROCK, the band begins another prosperous phase in its career. The three members believe strongly in the album's potential, both live and on radio. Along with the album comes the promotional tour, which promises to be big and pass through several capitals. A feast for Maskavo fans hungry for news.
