Among the many acts that emerged in 1970s reggae, the trio of Donald "Tabby" Shaw, Lloyd Ferguson and Fitzroy Simpson stood out. With smooth, soul‑inflected vocals they championed the Rasta cause in songs like "Poor Marcus" and the hit "Right Time." Signed to Virgin, they impressed international audiences and recorded with veteran New Orleans producer Allen Toussaint (Ice on Fire, 1977), though they never broke through in the U.S.\r\r\nIn Jamaica they continued to release hits, including tracks referenced in popular culture such as "Pass the Kutchie." The group’s vocal blend and commitment to roots made them lasting figures in reggae history.
