Moa Anbesa is a traditional roots reggae band (a style that emerged in Jamaica in the 70s), with a very distinctive sound and living influences of Dub, Nyabinghi Drums, Ska, Rocksteady, Blues and Soul. Moa Anbesa - Conquering Lion (Judah) in Ethiopian language, represents the sound of a new generation of reggae bands that emerged in Salvador in Brazil and around the world in recent times. The group was founded by Ijahwel i'n'i, a musician, singer and composer from Bahia, with the aim of continuing the work he started with his band "Seed Shall Grow" in 1992 in Germany.

After returning to Brazil following several attempts and formations, Moa Anbesa was finally born in July 2001, formed besides Ijahwel i'n'i by Milan Gordillo, one of the most competent reggae guitarists, complementing the compositions with his harmony, melody and rhythm arrangements, Vicente de Jesus (drums), in building the rhythmic playground, the foundation of each song in groove with the bass played by the talent of Ricardo Cruz in the best "melody driver" style, stitching together giving shape and consistency to the unmistakable sound of Reggae.

Singing with feeling and great originality, supported by the rhythmic pulse of the keyboard, Ijahwel i'n'i interprets his own compositions in English and also in Portuguese – inspirations, sonic portraits of experiences around the world, through the Rastafari prism. Messages of peace, love and unity - Praise to Jah Rastafari, are the main purposes of Moa Anbesa. "Moa Anbesa Experience" consists of ten songs selected among others from the repertoire played at shows. This experience influences not only the band members themselves, but probably also ears sensitive to the original reggae sound.
