The band Namastê began its work in 1998, playing in bars and nightclubs in the city of Ponta Grossa - PR. Seeking a better structure for the band's growth, they returned to their hometown, Curitiba, at the beginning of 1999. Over time the band Namastê went through some changes in its musician lineup until naturally reaching the current formation, which has as its great differential two main vocalists.

Directly influenced by Jamaican music, the band followed its path in search of recognition on its first work - CD titled "Reggae do Bem" (2002) - and in performing shows that bring in their repertoire own compositions and reinterpretations of acclaimed songs, always remaining faithful to reggae. At the end of 2004, the band Namastê participated in the newest project organized by the label Villa-Biguá artes and radio Transamérica – the CD "COLETÂNEA REGGAE TRANSAMÉRICA" – this participation gave the band the opportunity to release its new promotional song "Minha Paz" in the market as well as two other songs already known from the CD "Reggae do Bem" – Yojahyá and Velhos Tempos.

In July 2005, the band released its second CD, titled "Simplesmente Assim", with 12 unreleased songs. One of the highlights of this work is the participation of Fauzi Beydoun and Zé Orlando (both members of the acclaimed band Tribo de Jah) on the track "Reggae Roots". In December 2005 the band was invited to take the stage at Pedreira Paulo Leminski, the largest event space in the city of Curitiba. The event gathered approximately 20,000 people. It is worth remembering that the band Namastê was one of the only Paraná bands to take this stage in the entire existence of this space, which has already been stepped on by AC/DC, Pearl Jam, Ivete Sangalo, Ramones, Bon Jovi, Avril Lavigne, Big Mountain, among others. In 2012 the band plans to release an EP with 5 unreleased songs
