In recent years, the Virgin Islands of St. Croix and St. Thomas have revealed to the world an incredible scene with a crop of roots reggae artists who have become a guaranteed presence at the biggest festivals of the genre in Europe, the United States, and South America as well. Names like Midnite, Bambu Station, Dezarie, Ras Attitude, Niyorah, and Batch are just a few of those who have become a sensation among lovers of original reggae.

And this generation of new Roots Reggae icons continues with Reemah, who is the new sensation of St. Croix. Juliette Vanterpool (Reemah) is undoubtedly one of the most talented singers ever to come out of the Virgin Islands. With conscious songs and a performance described as "captivating and full of vibration," the singer is preparing to release her first album.

Her first appearance as a singer was on Bambu Station's song "Chance to Grow," which early in her career earned her shows in the United States, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, as well as, of course, her homeland. After the release of "War," the first single (which also yielded a beautiful music video) from her debut album, she was immediately confirmed for Reggae on The River, the largest Reggae festival in the United States.

Her first work, "Check Your Words," was produced by Catalyst Mitchell, Jalani Horton of Bambu Station, and Laurent "Tippy" Alfred. The album was later re-released by VPAL (VP's label) with a bonus track, given its success. More recently, the artist released her second album, "Breaking News." The response was immediate and significant, earning tours across the United States and Europe. In Brazil, the artist has performed once, and a legion of fans awaits her return.
