Semente Reggada began around Vila Mariana in 2001 as a friendly project that grew into a committed reggae band. Comprised of Fabricio Picone, Léo do Espírito Santo, Rafael Mendes and Robson de Souza, they recorded a demo in 2008 and released it in 2009 with a thousand copies. Their melodies and straightforward lyrics promote peace, unity and moral values, and they organize social-awareness projects like Reggae o Parque de Domingo.
The band’s work prioritizes education and community outreach, symbolized by the sprouting bean seed that represents a child’s early learning.
