Sensimilla Dub formed in São Paulo in September 2000, gathering veteran figures from the São Paulo music scene with the aim of creating original reggae influenced by a wide range of styles including Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Clash, Colera, Beto Guedes, Bob Marley, Black Uhuru and Israel Vibration.\r\r\nA pioneer of dub in Brazil, the band self‑released their first CD (SENSIMILLA) and achieved impressive sales; singles such as "Litoral Norte" and "Ondas" became staples on specialist radio shows and earned them the Revelation Band award from Rádio Imprensa FM in 2001.\r\r\nTheir 2003 album "Dois por Um" (13 tracks) expanded their palette with heavy guitars and dub elements, including a jungle‑style version of John Holt’s "Police in Helicopters" which found airplay on Punky Reggae radio in Germany. The record reached audiences across France, Belgium, the USA, Portugal, Argentina and Peru.\r\r\nSensimilla Dub supported Andrew Tosh on a mini‑tour in Southeast Brazil and received positive press internationally. Highlights of their live career include appearances at the World Social Forum (2005) and major national events produced by Rede Globo.\r\r\nThe 2006 album "Na Vibe", produced by Cotô Guarino, showcased their evolving sound on tracks like "Fernando de Noronha", "Terra Mãe" and "FDP (Filhos da Pátria)", featuring guest artists from Brazil’s rock and reggae scenes.\r\r\nCelebrating ten years in 2010, the band planned an extensive international tour ("TEN YEARS AFTER TOUR") and opened shows for BLACK UHURU in Brazil — a milestone reflecting their main influence. They also prepared a compilation of rarities and new tracks including a Portuguese adaptation of DUB INC.’s "Rude Boy" and the original composition "THIRD WORLD REMAINS", previewing their next album scheduled for international release in mid‑2011.
