Vibrações is a band born in the city of Maceió, in the state of Alagoas, in 1998, which seeks to compose its identity from the junction of original Jamaican reggae with the hybridism that makes up the Brazilian musical scene, more specifically the northeastern one. With diverse influences, it brings in its background its authenticity in the contagious rhythmic structure of Afro-Brazilian and indigenous drumming, in socially denouncing lyrics, blended with the urgent appeal for non-violence, based on peace, love and justice for the disadvantaged. Given the exclusion and discrimination of northeasterners and black people, the band seeks through confrontation of aesthetic, musical and regional standards, a form of "territorialization" of this portion of the Brazilian population, in the sense of making it recognize and feel itself inserted in the environment through a culture that represents it. Believing that this is possible through exposure of racial heritage, regional music and typical northeastern language, not only resisting overwhelming mass culture, but also facing dominant dictates.
With its work promoted in the northeast and south-center of the country, the band Vibrações had the privilege of sharing the stage with high-quality national and international artists such as Gilberto Gil, Cidade Negra, O Rappa, Biquini Cavadão, Natiruts, The Wailers, Groundation, S.O.J.A., Eric Donaldson, Gregory Isaacs, Don Carlos, Max Romeo, Alpha Blondy, The Abyssinians and Midnite, who strongly influenced the band's members, thus expanding their range of references. Being a landmark in the northeastern musical scene, giving rise to a solid and responsible movement, the band Vibrações unites entertainment and challenges the critical thinking of its audience, constituting a strong band regarding musical quality and the liberating intention of its messages.
