Release of Maskavo's new CD on the night of roots reggae at KVA!
This past Wednesday, April 24, on a night full of peace and harmony, Maskavo launched its new CD "ASAS" at KVA, with performances by the bands Camanaré and Bad Fish. Many beautiful people showed up at the show organized by Berimbau company with promotion from radio 89fm. Early in the morning, around 0:30, Bad Fish was the first to take the KVA stage, where the audience eagerly awaited their entrance. This new band from Rio Grande do Sul energized the crowd with their working-class song "Me diz porquê" and also with hits by Bob Marley and Charlie Brown Jr. In an interview, guitarist Davi hopes to return to São Paulo to perform more shows and closes with news of the CD release at the end of the year with special guest appearances by Maskavo and Tribo de Jah.
Next it was the Rio de Janeiro band Camanaré's turn to present songs from their new work such as Brasil, Chuva Miúda and Sanguessugas. After a few songs, an unprecedented event... and why not say historic for music? The band called an illustrious guest to join the great show, and this guest was none other than Planta e Raiz percussionist Juliano, who tore it up and energized the crowd even more — approximately 900 people — among them other personalities such as MTV series Hermes e Renato actor Adriano Pereira, who in an interview said he felt very comfortable at the venue and was waiting for Maskavo's entrance. Maskavo took the stage at exactly 2:30 and delivered hits like "Vamos fugir", paying tribute to one of Brazil's great musicians, Gilberto Gil, and of course their most recent success "Asas", a cover of the beautiful song composed by Tato from Falamansa.
The night was truly one of the best in terms of Roots Reggae. Camanaré and Maskavo's next shows will take place in southern Brazil: Camanaré performs on 04/27 at Eletric Circus in Carlos Barbosa and at Cais do Porto in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. And Maskavo performs in Santa Cruz do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, and also at Cais do Porto in Porto Alegre on 04/27. It's worth it, needless to say.
