Rede Atlântida opens Parque Planeta for another big party!
Rede Atlântida
Dread Locks Atlântida is coming. The biggest Reggae Festival in Southern Brazil in an exclusive promotion by Rede Atlântida and sponsored by Univali, Tendência Curso e Colégio and Damyller. The history of reggae in Brazil has no official start date. The beginning revolves around a Jimmy Cliff show at an International Song Festival in the 60s and the incorporation, by Tropicália, of elements of the genre. In 1980, Bob Marley came to Brazil to launch a record label but did not perform any shows.
In southern Brazil, reggae traveled a long path, but was strengthened by surfers, who brought Reggae music and lifestyle from their travels around the world in search of the best waves. Florianópolis, thanks to the cultural diversity of its residents, coming from all regions of Brazil, and its beautiful beaches full of surfers, ended up consolidating itself as one of the main reggae hubs in Brazil. Today reggae keeps growing. New bands emerge every day. The reggae style appeals to youth who wear clothes and accessories with lions of Judah, symbols of rastafarianism, Jamaica colors and lots of Bob Marley.
To celebrate all the energy that reggae music brings, Florianópolis will be the center of the biggest Reggae festival in southern Brazil: Dreadlocks Atlântida. In its 1st Edition, the Festival will liven up Saturday 04/19, starting at 7 pm with various bands that will perform in an area with special structure set up at Parque Planeta.
