MADA Festival, one of Brazil’s most important independent music festivals
This past weekend one of the most important independent music festivals in Brazil took place, MADA (Música, Alimento da Alma). The festival is held annually in Natal – RN and brings together independent bands from all over Brazil, and at the end of each day a national act closes the shows. This year the band Reggalyze was the only reggae representative at MADA and played on Rapa day, with an audience of 6,000 people and VIP boxes packed with press and representatives from labels and record companies; the responsibility was great, but see what has already been said about the band's performance:
"Reggae took over Largo da Rua Chile when Reggalyze took the stage. The band put on a perfect show with their inspired roots reggae. For lovers of the style it was impeccable. Now all that's missing is the CD for things to get even better for them." Anderson foca – PopTiguar News.
"Reggalyze cooled tempers with their reggae and praises to Jah." Isaac Ribeiro - Tribuna do Norte. The most interesting point of the show was when Sidney Cavalcanti (Vocals) announced the song "Quem quer dinheiro?" asking the audience to protect their heads because a rain of coins was about to happen. As soon as the song started, rain fell on Largo da Rua Chile; the song ended and with it the rain went away too: "Reggalyze put on an impeccable show for those who like traditional reggae. It was the moment of the night to relax. The band had another great merit. In the middle of the show, the vocalist announced 'it's going to rain money'.
At the same moment, a drizzle tried to spoil the party, but a Bob Marley-style voodoo took all the clouds away, leaving the sky clear and revealing to those present the first images of the lunar eclipse." Alex de Sousa – Diário de Natal. Reggalyze will be this Saturday, May 24, playing lots of reggae alongside the band Rebel Lion at Canto das Tribos in Fortaleza – CE.
