Rhythm of Jah gains another São Paulo representative!

Rhythm of

Although Maranhão is considered the cradle of reggae in Brazil, São Paulo is increasingly showing the face of the new followers of the Jamaican rhythm. Among the best new discoveries, the band Arkaya hits the road with style and shows its music of the highest quality. Today, Brazilian stages welcome a new generation of bands that has already won space among reggae fans. Arkaya emerges with a new crop of musicians who are there to prove that, even without Bob Marley, reggae remains alive and has always had its faithful followers.

Friendship among the members is the foundation of the vast majority of musical groups, and with Arkaya it is no different. Friends Clayton, Rael and Dudu heard "O Som", presented by vocalist Fino, and that is when the idea of forming the band came up. To complete the lineup, Lê, Pato and Lester joined them. With only one year and three months of existence, the guys have already made their musical and professional maturity evident. They went through some difficulties, the greatest of which was the loss of Levi, the band's first bassist, due to violence.

They then decided to continue, and use music as an instrument of protest and take the opportunity to send positive messages, without apologies or prejudice. Musical talent and good stage performance are no longer in question. For now, most performances take place in bars and nightclubs, but the band has already made its presence felt at major events such as the Vila Madalena Arts Fair and the Reggae Circuit Anniversary Party at Espaço das Américas. Covers of national bands and Bob Marley classics figure in Arkaya's repertoire. Gradually, their own songs are being performed and winning over the public's taste.

Some special guest appearances, such as by the band Planta & Raiz and Alexandre, vocalist of Natihuts, mark great moments in Arkaya's shows, which is influenced by bands that emerged in the last three or four years.
Finally, Leve a Paz, the group's first CD, is released with original songs that express concern for the country's future, call for peace and exalt love; the band Arkaya is emerging on the São Paulo circuit. "Where poverty ends, violence will end, all evil will fade away and all humanity will understand peace" are lines from the hit 'Aqui na Terra'. Most of the songs are written by vocalist Fino. The well-crafted lyrics express optimism and belief in a better world. The arrangements are original and bring a Ska mix on the track 'O Reggae é a Cura'.

Now, just turn up the volume and move to the sound of Arkaya!
